I just read the overview on aluminum wiring.
It would appear that replacement of aluminum wiring with copper wiring by a licensed electrical contractor would be the most sensible solution to the hazard.
While there is a higher cost with this solution, the cost savings should be realized over time in insurance premiums.
Other, less expensive solutions listed in the article have inherent risk with each. The alternative solutions may not result in insurance discounts and still pose some risk to life and property.
