More importantly, it gives the appearance of amateur hour when the only policy is tariffs, tariffs, tariffs.
Not like the President Elect hasn’t done this job before. If appearances are so worrisome for you how could you possibly support Biden selling access to foreign countries and the cackling candidate with no policy platform? Democrats have some serious appearance problems.

We all know, everyone in the world knows, that tariffs mostly cause more problems than they solve. Even Trump maybe knows that. He obviously won’t implement all of these tariffs, tariffs, tariffs. He is using them as a bluff. While that is fine in small doses, when it is the only tool in your toolbox, it gives the appearance of being an amateur. And appearances are reality, as they say.

Trump’s latest trade war is most likely destined to become another oft-promised and never detailed dream.
Trump’s return to the White House marks a return to the magical thinking that defined his failed first term, except now his plans threaten to raise costs on American consumers who are already hurting from high inflation. Now Trump faces the choice of looking like a failure for promising tariffs he can’t deliver or enacting tariffs that financially wreck his voter base. How familiar it all feels.

I personally agree with Trump as far as BRICS is concerned.
And although 100% tariffs on anything would obviously hurt many American businesses, the US dollar needs to remain the world’s go to currency.
I’m not talking about how our own country views him.
Who are we concerned about? The same virtue-signaling globalist liars that signed the fraudulent Paris Climate Accords, the mass migration globalists that grift the American tax dollars, the ones that expect us to fund NATO disproportionately, or the ones that tax our exports while do not expect to be taxed on theirs?
