Looks like the homeowner finally got tired of paying for a real plumber.

Folks, there is nothing wrong with this installation. If you’re thinking that it is a standard water heater, it is not, as evidenced by the plastic irrigation pipes. This is a fertilization/irrigation system. Here’s how it works. Solid fertilizer is mixed with the water and is then heated by the water heater. Since hot water dissolves materials more easily than cold water, the fertilizer dissolves. Then when the irrigation system is turned on, the water is already full of appropriate fertilizers. This type of system typically is used for above-ground vegetables only, not fruits. Vegetables, like tomatoes (although a fruit), okra, string beans, etc., have thinner skins and can easily be damaged by solid fertilizers in the hot sun. This type of system prevents skin burns, which really turn people off in the produce section of the grocery store. I have the patent on this system. icon_lol.gif

Definitely not bored. I just don’t get to stay in the office that often. We’re doing condos today, so I’m here working on reports, marketing, and, for a change, reading things outside the Members Only area.

I had one of those about a month ago. No manufacturer information was available on it, so I don’t know. I did like the design of it, though. Much nicer than the standard water heater.

The next sad part is this one W/H served four units. It appears to be a lower end big box store W/H bet it has the 2500 watt elements.Which means it probably takes 1 1/2 to recover from one shower.

Without plumbers the world would have more crap to deal with.

Looks like a indirect fired water heater. Using a zone off the boiler that circulates water through a coil in the tank to make domestic hot water. There should be an acquastat control inside the jacket to adjust water temp. which turn on the circulator pump.
