Hi to all,

Here is something a little unusual from my friday inpection of an 1830's farmhouse in deepest New Hampshire. the quesion is what is it, what does it do and what's wrong with the installation ?

This is for discussion rather than a just check the box.

Regards

Gerry

Tankless H2O heater?? Looks like a TPV is installed without a discharge tube or pipe; venting arrangement (if that’s what it is) definitely not done in the most workman-like manner…is this thing electrically-powered or gas-fired???

Hi to all,

Nice try Chris, it is a kind of water heater, but that is not the full answer, it is electrically powered. Well spotted on the TPR valve. the manufacturer shoud give some extra clue as to its purpose.

Where is is located in the home? Should the 240 line be in conduit? Is the “venting arrangement” the approved vent material?

Hi to all,

So far so good, Bob nailed it, it is a steam generator for a steam shower, and Chris noted the TPR valve, what else ?? and how about Peter's "venting" issue ??

Still some ways to go on this one ![icon_wink.gif](upload://ssT9V5t45yjlgXqiFRXL04eXtqw.gif)
