Another thought…
I’ve built many log homes and I would disclaim the logs part of the stucture if I couldn’t spend the additional time needed to do an adequate inspection of those logs including up high. And that means charging more, a bunch more. There are too many cracks for water to run in. Also the method of construction is important in order to assess the framing attached to the logs. Some methods take into consideration the logs settling approximately 1" per foot of height of log wall. And on and on…
