Okay I have seen about a 1/2 dozen of these systems in the last 7 years. I get the idea that hot water from the hot water heater is being used to heat a coil or coils that air blows across and heats. Are these systems really that cost effective? Exactly how does this thing work?
Looking into it now. Did find this on their website:
“The only limitation is that, in most cases, conventional electric water heaters cannot supply the Hydronic Heating Unit since they usually can’t keep up with the BTU requirements.”
It does use water from the water heater, and claims to send to the water back for water heater usage with minimal losses. My questions is, since water has a large heat capacity, how much of the heat is lost from the heated water and is this really efficient?
