Newbie here. I have been searching the GA Dept of Revenue site for the answer. It appears that the answer is NO. Can a seasoned Inspector in GA please provide input?
Thanks,
Derrick

I’m in Maryland where SERVICES do not incur a sales tax. Products on the other hand have a sales tax. Consider your last auto repair bill. There are services (labor) charges and products (parts). Were you charged taxes on the labor or just the parts. There-in lies your answer.
From Google.
Do I need to charge sales tax on services in Georgia?
While most services are exempt from tax, Georgia does tax the sale of accommodations, in-state transportation of individuals (e.g., taxis, limos), sales of admissions, and charges for participation in games and amusement activities.
While I don’t employ an accountant I do use a tax service. What do they say?
Same with Colorado. Services or labor do not charge sales tax, product sales do.
I Don’t know about GA though. Maybe @bcawhern1 or @tglaze can answer your question.
I don’t charge for a sales tax. It is not required for this type of service industry.
What he said ^^^^^^^^^^^^^
(note: Most counties there is a tax associated with your business license that it tied to you gross sales. But this is not the same as collecting sales tax).
Thanks guys! Your replies were very helpful.
Thanks Thomas! I should have just reached out to you directly.
I just dropped 50.000 for 3 years.
Do the math, 15.3%
Math for what Robert?
Thanks Robert. I believe this topic and discussion is about Georgia (US) and not Canadian sales tax. Thanks for the input though…
True.
I posted so that new inspectors passing by the thread might realize taxes can not be overlooked.
If you haven’t figured it out yet the Canadian Queen likes to make every post about herself.
