The test button only confirms the battery, electronics, and alert system is working, it doesn’t mean the smoke sensor is working.
Any Home Inspector who has the credentials and experience should bring comfort. No offense, and thank you for your service!

I used to use the pen but the spray is quicker. The one I use is by CRC. I press the test button first, just to confirm the battery is good.

Julie, not good enough! I’ll quote one of my favorite right wing commentators, this is hog wash! Vets bring a special something to the table that people whom have never served can compare with. Forget it, you would think you would appreciate the opportunity to promote vets and there association with InterNACHI. Thanks for your service is a hollow statement that vets like me do not appreciate, if you don’t have the stones to serve, don’t thank me, my son & the rest of the vets for protecting yours & your families freedoms

Hello from New Brunswick Canada. Just starting the training and would like to ask if it is ok to complete the first year courses before I complete the prerequisites? I did complete the soe and sop already.

Thanks for the Q&A! I’m starting a home inspecting business. I just passed the InterNACHI exam on the first try! A general question about issues found during an inspection… Would you mind talking a little bit about when you “recommend” something be resolved at a property versus when you just point out that there’s a problem? Also, could you talk a little bit about the wording that you use in those instances?
