Just got a notice that Sears Home Improvement has filed for bankruptcy, shut down all phone lines, and will no longer honor warranties. It’s unclear to me exactly which division shut down, but certainly the one that installs windows.

In the case of windows Simonton was their main vendor, and it may be possible to fall back to the vendor for service.

We spoke a few minutes ago. Please see below.

*Transform Home Improvement Products values you as a customer. You contacted us concerning your window installation completed on or before January 23. 2002. Unfortunately, there is no longer a labor warranty on your installation, in addition we have no installers or technicians in your area to provide service. *

As I am sure you are aware Sears filed Chapter 11 Bankruptcy on October 15, 2018. Transform SR Home Improvement Products did not purchase Sears. Please note that the time to file a claim was before April 9, 2019. There is no workmanship warranty remaining for your contract and therefore you are free to seek service where you chose at your own cost.

Transform SR Home Improvement Products did not buy the Sears Home Improvement business and we are not responsible for their contracts or repairs. We will not be able to perform service in your home at any time in the future. You are welcome to have anyone of your choice make the repairs.

Unfortunately, we are respectfully denying any further involvement in the above listed issue or product, and we recommend you contact your Homeowners Insurance and/or a local contractor for repairs. This project is a Sears Home Improvement project and Transform SR Home Improvement Products does not take any liability or responsibility for Sears Home Improvements contracts.

Thank you,
Transform SR Home Improvement LLC.
