Barriers are required on the main lugs on service panel boards. The NEC 230.62 discusses the protected lugs are on the load side. Does this mean the lugs on a sub panel board are not required to be protected by a barrier?
That is correct because for a sub-panel the line side terminals can be de-energized by opening the OCPD on the feeder at it’s origin. So if you had a 100 amp circuit breaker in the service feeding a 100 amp sub-panel that breaker can be opened to completely de-energize the sub-panel.
