Bay Area Inspector

Hello everyone!

Zach Konrath here and I am a new home inspector in the Bay Area (Palo Alto, Ca) just wondering if anyone has any marketing tips or good advice as to where I should start as far as networking and getting some clientele? Any advice would be much appreciated!

Do you have a quality website to share?

I do! Still need to get a picture of myself on there and add pool inspection services on there, but other than that, here it is.https://www.hifihomeinspections.com/

Put it in your signature for some free SEO to start with.

You serve Palo Alto with a 916 area code phone?

Right?

Change your area code to match Palo Alto and the surrounding peninsula, ie. 650 (best), runners up 408, 415, 510

The website needs a lot of work

Here are our inspection services and fees. We strive to provide the highest quality inspections in all of Santa Monica, CA

> Service Areas

Palo Alto CA, and all surrounding areas.

That’s just one example of many things wrong with that site.

Palo Alto and Santa Monica are no where near each other.

But outside of that, read every thread going back the last 10 years here:
https://forum.nachi.org/c/members-only/inspector-marketing/15

Every answer you could ever seek is posted in there.

Most inspectors fail because they don’t want to take the time to read the answers.

Thanks for the advice!

Okay, I had relocated from Santa Monica to the Bay Area a while back and reached out to the InterNachi marketing team to update my website and area of operation. It looks like they just added it instead of deleting Santa Monica. Thanks for the info!

Just some quick feedback if you are interested.

From your website:

Our home inspection services include a thorough mold inspection. Our certified home inspectors are trained to identify and diagnose any mold growth,

No mouse in my pocket, just what the website developing team at InterNachi created for me. If you are giving advice, are you suggesting that I reach out to the InterNachi website developing team again to change the “we’s” to “I’s” so it sounds more like it’s coming directly from me?
-Thanks.

Correction: *this is through the website builder program that InterNachi suggests to use, not directly from an Internachi design team. Sorry about that.

Good morning Zach.

Though a small detail, I would recommend being consistent. You can use “our or we” when discussing your organization, but the “Our inspectors are Certified…” gives the impression you are a multi-inspector firm, which conflicts with your introduction.

Totally makes sense. Thanks Brian, I appreciate the advice very much!

Hi Robert, thanks so much for the advice! I’ll be sure to add a link for a social media profile.

I’m seeing a common theme that my website needs a lot of work, which I completely agree with. What is a bit frustrating is that I did pay that one time fee of $299 to Inspector Website Builder and this is their finished product for me.
