First call this morning from a realtor for a crawl space only inspection because she saw my postings about my project BIGcrawler.
Congrats on the call. Nice job over the rough terrain and obstacles. The camera mount is working great and giving good video. How does it do in muddy conditions?
You should talk to Nick about marketing turnkey units through the outlet.
Works great in mud. Ran it over an open sewer line that cut half the crawlspace off. Made an upgrade to my lights. Keeps getting closer.
Beats crawling through the sewer yourself. How is clearance in the crawl spaces in your area? Do you need to worry about getting hung up due to low clearance overhead? Are you able to maintain your bearings once you get farther away from the opening?
The crawler is less than 6" tall to top of camera. We do have tight crawls here, I can do down to 10" or so with my Krawlgear. Orientation is tough, I learned a couple awesome things in regards to that on the last couple that made BIG differences. Funny thing, my crawler is out there more than the one currently for sale. Only seen 2 videos and 1 picture so far.

Were you doing most of your piloting by Line of sight or FPV? I was really surprised by the low clearance when you drove under the waste pipe. Do you think you’ll be able to pick out defects realtime or will you have to watch the video later?
Until I lost the camera was FPV (practicing when accessible and the situation presents itself). I built it to be as low as possible. With the new lights, should be able to see the defects while crawlin.
Scot, can you tell us what you used for a lighting system. Are they just headlights? I am having trouble locating something for my crawler vs just mounting a headlamp or flashlight. Nice video by the way. Mine is still coming up when I get the time to mount a FPV gimble and a lighting system.
The one in the video is an Axial brand 4 led bulb kit that plugs into the 3rd channel on the receiver.
