I dropped my 7x35 Minolta binocs at an inspection last saturday. They did not survive. I liked them but thought I would check with the mb to see if anyone had any suggestions for a different set. Anyone?

These people: http://www.handsonoptics.com/bin_celestron.html, gave me the best price and it came two days after I ordered it.
BTW, I have dropped these a few times without a problem.

Good luck,
Fred

Same thing occured to me last week.

I have been looking at a set of cheap Tascos on E-bay, but Big 5 Sporting Goods has a variety on sale this week, so I think I will shoot over there today and see what they have.

I hear the Nikons are good, but I have never seen them.

I have a pair of 8x50’s that I keep in my truck just in case that I got from Big Lots for $19.99. If I drop them, who cares!! So far, I have only used them to look at the sky at night though. icon_biggrin.gif

I use Nikons and love them. They are a bit spendy but well worth the price. These are the ones I use but there are some cheaper models that also have great optics. Also there warranty is great!http://www.nikonsportoptics.com/product.php?group=16&subgroup=11&product=7552

I use Nikon and love them. Very good optics and simple to focus. Though I did have a “Tim the Toolman” moment when I saw those Vista Pix. (grunt grunt)

Have taken a beating.

The military also use these.

Thanks to you all. I did quite a bit of research and went with a pair of Zhumell 10x25 compacts. The 10x magnification seems just about right and the smaller field of view keeps me focused on a small area at a time. I got them from Binoculars.com and they cost me only $64.
