Blower size for a York

I am working on a project of my own and I need to know the tonnage range of a blower on an old Borg-Warner (York) furnace.

Model: 2HL06502006A

Serial: MLNY460655

Any old York technicians out there?

7.5 Amps is close to one ton .

I think your thinking about compressor Amperage Roy.

I think he is looking for blower capacity.

James: get the ratings off the blower motor and blower wheel size and call an HVAC supply place and see what the motor is rated at.

It is all about CFM/ton and if the blower can move that volume under the existing duct design and still stay in spec.

What are you trying to do?

If you don’t have air measurement tools, you have to stick with amperage readings and refrigerant pressure under design conditions. You will generally need 450 to 500 CFM per ton. If you deviate from this you may change the sensible heat ratio performance of the equipment.

I was hoping I did not have to go through all that David.

4 or 5 ton according to this:

What are you trying to do? Maybe we can find a shortcut!

I am surprsied Jim. You sound like a lot of the homowners we deal with - “Don’t tell me the right way, tell me the easy way”.

I need to find the blower size for I know if it will handle a 3600 square foot house.

I am going with this. Thanks Mike!
