About BuildFax
For some context about Buildfax, we aggregate and standardize digital building permits (but not permits on paper or on microfiche). Our national database is a proprietary property intelligence data resource that contains building and permitting information from cities and counties throughout the country. The BuildFax database includes over 84 billion data points on commercial and residential structures and delivers deep insights to drive smart decisions.
We currently cover 98% of the US populations of 50K+. This means that our database contains permitted residential and commercial construction activity in over 9,000 cities, counties, and townships in all fifty states. Our coverage continues to grow weekly.
Where we have data coverage, we collect 100% of electronic permit records between two specific date points. The dates shown on the report timeline represent the earliest and latest dates where records are available through BuildFax. These two dates are shown on the timeline of every BuildFax Report. Please note that BuildFax might not have permit data coverage for every address you search.
InterNACHI $4.50 Per Report Plan
Based on your online profile, we can offer our discounted InterNACHI $4.50 Plan, which is $4.50/month for 1 report/month (base fee), renewing monthly, plus $4.50 for each additional report during the billing month. This is a recurring monthly subscription, so you only have to sign up once. We charge the base fee of $4.50 at the beginning of the 30-day billing cycle and pick up any additional unique address searches the following month, along with the base fee.
You might have colleagues who are on grandfathered BuildFax billing plans, but this is the only discounted plan we currently have for InterNACHI-certified home inspectors.

Simply fill out the form by creating your own username & password, add your payment method and billing zip code, then click SUBMIT. There is no discount code to apply – leave that blank - it’s already discounted. There is no contract, and you may cancel by request at support@buildfax.com.
Attached as a PDF is a sample report in our Structure Profile template.
The available report templates are Major Systems Report+ and Structure Profile – you may use either or both. The permit history data is just displayed differently. We don’t charge for duplicate address searches during the 30-day billing cycle, so no need to be concerned about being billed twice for the same address.
If you sign up for our service, you’ll receive a couple of automated emails from BuildFax with login instructions and a receipt for $4.50. To get started, simply log in using the URL and your username/password combination. From your home screen, you’ll be able to enter a property address and retrieve the BuildFax Report.
Note that property addresses are formatted using the US Postal Service standard. For example: 123 Main Street, Asheville, NC 28801. Be sure to put a comma and space after the street address, and after the city name. Complete addresses work best.
