California home inspector licensing

Apparently AB293 has undergone the “gut and amend” process, just like its immediate predecessor did a couple of years ago.

AB293 now is “An act to add and repeal Section 17053.19 of the Revenue
and Taxation Code, relating to taxation, to take effect immediately, tax levy.”

So home inspector licensing here looks like no earlier than January 1, 2007, if then.

I received the same e-mail today from the state. I have requested an audience with Assembly Person Maze on this subject again today. Appearantly our state legislators do not want to talk to us about this situation. I am hoping the e-mail I sent today will be answered. If not, I will be going down to Sacramento to sit outside his office until he sees me.

So what’s your beef? Yeah or nay? Happy or unhappy?

I, for one, am happy to see it gone. I thought it was a poor piece of legislation.

I do not have a beef Russel. And it is not gone. Yes I am happy that it is in hiberation but it will be back. You know as well as I do that licensing is just around the corner and with the way our state acts in congress they will stick it far where we don’t want it.

I am still going to find out what is happening regardless. They owe us that much at least.
