Now that the Biden administration is making you buy LED light bulbs, take a look and see where they’re made
Took a look at the local grocery for bulbs all were made in China. All GE bulbs, made in China. Essentially the US government is subsidizing Chinese industry. Forcing you to buy chinese products. Take a look.

Pretty sure there are no household light bulbs of any kind have been manufactured in the US since 2016. It’s a shame that any industry has to rely on China for making their products sold in the US. This has been going on for years and crosses political parties.

It won’t be long until American made candles and oil lamps are off the shelves. Stock up while they’re still cheaper than they will be.

We have probably 50 oil lamps for sale in our store at the moment. They actually have made a bit of a resurgence the last couple years. Not just for nostalgia, but many people believe the grid might go down at some point and stay down for an extended period.

Will be a popular item, sort of like Y2K scare, but I’m stocking up on them, along with ammo. I don’t trust the nut cases anymore.

Buy SYLVANIA
LEDVANCE own the SYLVANIA brand. They have one U.S. based light bulb factories in Versailles, Kentucky. In 2017 the company kept the factory alive by transitioned 200 jobs. Moving them from manufacture of traditional lighting products to the new LED technology. Currently, these LED light bulbs contains both U.S. and imported parts. The company sells bulbs under the brand names of SYLVANIA, LEDVANCE and OSRAM. Their bulbs are widely available from home supply stores, supermarkets and online.

Sad, but true.
And then we complain of the high prices of products that are made in the USA.
I’ve always like Philips LED light bulbs and was sad to see they’ve been made in china now for a few years.

In 2016 the last incandescent light bulb manufacturing plant in the USA closed its doors. It was an OSRAM Sylvania plant located in Wellsboro, PA
Sylvania LED light bulbs were assembled at LEDVANCE facilities located in St. Mary’s PA and Versailles KY. Both of these facilities ceased operations in 2019.
I did work for Elemental LED in Reno Nevada, they don’t make consumer bulbs, but do make quite a variety of other LED lighting.
Current LED light bulbs are designed with weaknesses that cause them to fail far faster than needed (bad capacitors in particular). Nobody wants bulbs to last a long time… not profitable.
I recently inspected a vacated building that was once an LED bulb R&D and sales building. They left a building maintenance person behind to care for the building until it sold. He blamed China.

You said it! The “industry” likes the Chinese slaves better than the ones they find here. Lesser complaints. This is not about politics! The Biden “Executive Order” will reduce the energy consumption in the country significantly. About the Chinese factories, they just give Corporate America a better bottom line.
No, Chinese businesses are able to do it cheaper. Everyone benefits. A person in China has a job. Families in the US can afford a light bulb that saves them money twice, the lower bulb price and lower energy bill. I call that a win, win.
