With two weeks to opening my first home and commercial inspection company in Boulder, CO, that will be put on hold for another month. Sharing some photos from the wildfire which started 4 houses down from mine. We believe my neighbor passed away during a house fire. We lost numerous structures/animal shelters on our farm and had to transport/rescue 24 animals plus 4 dogs mid-fire. Things have been crazy with the finding hotel, clothes, etc, but we managed.

Our home is still standing, though, covered in red fire-retardant slurry. We had 2 steel shipping containers in an open prairie, with no trees within 100+ feet, and yet they still managed to burn. All the contents inside were for the Boulder, CO Construction Museum, I have been working on for years. A bit heartbroken, it took years to collect all of that. Life goes on…
We’ll recover. Time to document the damage, clean up the animal/farm pastures and gardens, and I still plan to start doing inspections, just not as soon. Doing inspections are a dream for me, so I know the future holds something very special in store.
We created a support fund for those who ask: Inzamelingsactie van cherilyn Cornwell : Support Our Farm's Recovery from Stone Canyon Fire
But we’re doing okay. We’re home, and the kids are safe.
Here’s us on the news as well: https://kdvr.com/news/local/family-evacuated-by-stone-canyon-fire-assumes-loss-of-animal-shelters/
If you live in a wildfire area, take a moment to pre-pare. It happens so fast, and they are 1000x more destructive than you think.
Thank you,
Brian CPI
