As a home inspector, conflicts of interests could be created and the code of ethics could be violated by me if I were to offer to the home buyer or real estate agent any services and/or repairs to home that I’m inspecting. An example would be that after checking the furnace, and seeing that it is faulty, offering to repair it. Another example would be offering my landscaping services (hypothetical) to the home buyer or real estate agent for the home. These methods will create negative conflicts of interests, and will break the code of ethics.
