Carla,
I would surely hope that he did inform you not to add too much multimedia to the message as most people are still using dial up connections and it is considered "bad ettiquette" if it takes more than a minute to load. The faster the better, as they say.

I was an early adopter of the Internet, working on it back when it was stil ARPANET. But spam has got me so in an uproar that I currently am using email only for report delivery (if they request it) and follow-up. Since San Diego County is so large, personal delivery can get to be expensive, so I’m slowly but surely moving into the realm of emails. And I truly love them since I can do something at 2:30 in the morning.

Russel,
The problem that I had with emailing the report is that since they are such big files, around 30 MB's, I had to break them into pieces in order to send them via eamil. Usually the email servers kick it back as undeliverable when the size exceeds 3 or 4 MB's. Hey you, do you know something I don't? ![icon_biggrin.gif](upload://iKNGSw3qcRIEmXySa8gItY6Gczg.gif)

I think ole Joe is referring to the fact that he’s including the file sizes associated with the digital photos he imbeds in the report. Start adding 10 photos to the file and watch out…

Russel,
That would be Microsoft Word. You can assume that they have at least 30 to 40 color digital photos in each report. I think they are 800 X 600. Yes color does make that big of a difference as does the resolution of the picture.
Just doing BW photo's would be enough to lower the report size to what you are getting.
WIIFM...those who expect something from life are usually disappointed never getting anything they want. On the other hand those that expect nothing from life are always happy when they do get something no matter how insignificant it may seem to others.
I am one of those fortunate to be the latter never really expecting anything from life, except death. After all, death is a part of life!

Russel,
I really don't know, I never looked. What resolution picture do you use? I use the lowest setting on my camera which is 800 X 600. I checked and they are running about 60 kb's per picture.
