A logo is a symbol or graphic representation of a company or business for easy recognition. The idea of a logo is to stand out or above your competition. Repeated or bland logos may detour clients towards a company who’s logo looks impressive and professional.
An inspectors work attire should be clean and promote professionalism. A short sleeve button up or polo is appropriate for lower-moderate income neighborhoods, while a long sleeve button up with a tie would be appropriate for a high income neighborhood. A sturdy belt is also a good idea. Rugged shoes should be worn throughout the inspection, exceptions should be made where boots would be ideal.
Your water heater does not have a “Thermal Expansion tank” installed to prevent a possible leak at the T&P valve. Recent changes in code require one, as a safety improvement, when a new water heater is installed, when a water pressure regulator is present or will be installed due to high water pressure in the property, which is the case at this time.

Home inspection of the exterior is a very important part of the inspection process. Everything the is related to the home stars from the outside in. It is important to be detailed and start from left to right or right to left on a home.
This leather bound notebook is the cornerstone to anything I do online or talking to someone. It records what I say and what someone I’m speaking to says. It tracks numbers and names and addresses better than my phone can. It’s what I use to track everything I do.
The ability to be able to speak correctly with any and all persons who have been disabled or otherwise impaired is extremely important in regards to future appointments. Just like people who aren’t disabled, everyone spreads news in one way or another.
Starting the course!
For this course Ive chosen my work shirt for this essay. I picked the color blue in the shirt and logo design because it is a soothing color and exudes confidence. The green within the logo reflects freshness and life. Though wrinkled from the laundry, it will be ironed prior to wear. My clients compliment me on my shirt and I believe it is because of the colors. Colors give clients a visual, nonverbal clue about whom they have in front of them. For example, red can be seen as violent and stressful, grey can be seen as dull and lifeless. I want my clients to feel confident in their choice of hiring me and the shirt color helps along that path.
I chose to read the letter concerning InterNACHI home inspection certification because it is an excellent tool for gaining further client confidence in who I am as an inspector. We shouldnt overstate our training or experience nor should we degrade our competition. This letter is a great tool.
The handshake. A good firm but not overpowering handshake will leave a positive long lasting impression. Making eye contact while giving 2 or 3 shakes and a welcoming smile is all it takes as you meet your client, first time every time.
Life expectancy. A properly prepared surface and the best paint affordable will yield longer protection to the homes exterior against wind, rain and UV rays. Along with the proper preparation for caulks and sealants, keeping the home energy efficient with less maintenance.
For my photo a chose a screenshot of my website under construction, I want my home page to be clean and minimal in design. I learned a lot from this class and plan to add a internachi logo after I complete my courses and to add a call me now button.

I find it very valuable to be able to study Ben’s inspection reports to help me see his level of professionalism and the way he deals with each section of the inspection. I read the article on inspection reports–past or present tense.I learned that it is important to only use present tense for facts that are always true. I also learned that it is best to use past tense to protect yourself from liability. You should state in your inspection report the condition of the inspected area at the time of your report. Example – The a/c unit turned on and appeared functional . It responded to normal operating controls at time of inspection.
The vehicle is dirty, could project a business not on top of things. The BASS decal and no inspection related decals may indicate I am more interested in fishing then the business of inspecting. No business lettering etc, loss of a great advertising media. But once advertising is placed on the vehicle courtesy needs to be given to other drivers as you don’t want negative issues to arise.
Using a good electrical tester to verify proper polarity and grounding of receptacles is vital. Too many non professionals attempt to make electrical changes and additions and you will be surprised at the amount of errors. Non grounded receptacles will work but some items could pose safety issues and some items may have premature failure without a good ground.
