This is a picture of a bathroom exhaust venting into the attic. This is wrong and was noted on the report, but at the same time good communication with the client is important so they understand if something is a major issue or not. This house was 35 years old and the attic was very well vented. there were no signs of condensation problems.

I read the article “Doing damage while on an inspection”. If you do inspections for a living the odds are this will happen to you eventually. If something breaks while you are operating it as a homeowner would then this is exactly what a home inspection is for. You need to be able to communicate this to the client.

I am writing my essay about the importance of a good handshake. I will always remember the first time somebody told me to redo a handshake with them. I was about 10 years old and he really got into me about how important a good strong handshake was. 20 years later I always give a nice strong respectable handshake and you always notice when somebody does not put the respect into as they should. It is definitely a first time impression that means a lot.

I wring my essay about common courtesy and just general respect for a fellow human being. I learned early in life growing up that having respect and showing confidence go a long way. Looking somebody in the eye when speaking,Yes Please and No Thank You and opening up doors for men and ladies really lets you know on ho this person is. And when meeting somebody for the first time always have a smile on your face. You never know who is watching and why. So even if somebody is being disrespectful to you. It takes a whole lot less energy to shrug it off and move on then to become confrontational.

Most communication is nonverbal and one gets only a few seconds to make a good first impression.
A good handshake goes a long way to start a relationship on the right foot. In fact body language is very important and smile goes a long way.

Keeping an accurate log book is extremely useful in running a business. All professional interactions and decisions can be recorded along with dates and time. This can be useful in case of legal action as well.
The pages in the book are numbered, no page should ever be removed, records are written in pen and not a pencil.

Smile: A smile is one of the most important aspect of communication. It works. It’s universal. Smile at someone and they usually smile back. Make it a habit to smile at someone when you are speaking to them. Smile before you answer the phone.

Easy ways to save energy in your home: The average household dedicates 11% of its energy budget to lighting. Traditional incandescent lights convert approximately only 10% of the energy they consume into light, while the rest becomes heat. The use of new lighting technologies, such as light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs), can reduce the energy use required by lighting by 50% to 75%.

The phone is one of the most important tools to reach clients. Although this may not be the first time they have researched your inspection services it may be the first impression per voice call to impress your client. Always put a smile on your face before answering as it will translate through the phone you are about to answer.

When inspecting a garage e inspector will perform the same inspection as the home itself. The garage may have indicators that can be seen easily but other not so much. Also, note that a roof joist is to span the entire distance and not preform loading on interior walls.

When you search home inspectors online, you might get a pic of a model posing. However I am five foot ten inches tall and weigh 270 pounds. I do not inspect homes yet but after taking this course, I will try to get more fit and take care of myself better to improve the way my clients will see me.

Client satisfaction survey: Not only does the survey make the client feel as though their thoughts and feelings are being taken care of but also reinforces customer satisfaction documented on paper in case of a future claim. This can help legally.

I actually took a screen shot of the leave behind letter from this course itself. I plan on reworking it a little bit with my company logo and such but that is a great idea that I am very glad I saw in this course. It is best to leave all parties involved happy and at least with some sort of positive contact.

I looked at an article on bug zappers. I learned that while they do electrocute bugs, the electrocuted bugs can burst into toxic dust. Also bug zappers produce co2 which attracts more of the female bugs and they are the ones who tend to bite.

At time of inspection the HVAC system was working properly. Observed that the air filter and register were in need of replacement and cleaning. It should be noted that by replacing the air filter regularly the AC system will work much easier. Recommend for the air filter to be replaced and the register be cleaned.

Inspector attire. An inspector should wear appropriate attire to an inspection. Attire should include clean well fitting clothes that will not hinder an inspector while doing his job. Shirts with inappropriate remarks or obscene pictures should never be warn to an inspection. What you may consider okay may not suit your client in the same way.

Always greet your customers with a smile no matter if you are having a bad day. Dress attire should be clean and both suitable for the job at hand. Show up to the home on time with a clean looking vehicle and treat the customers with respect.

Call all of your realtor contacts and let them know you have updated your inspection package and would like to meet with them to show it. Make sure to leave a copy in the lobby with plenty of brochures and business cards.

Developing a personal dress code for your inspection business that is appropriate is an important part of giving off a professional impression.
