I feel I am blessed to live in a country, Canada, has a universal health care system funded through taxes.
From what I have read, the U.S. spends nearly double what Canada does per person on healthcare, with administrative costs being a major contributor to the high U.S. spending.
That extra costs robs Americans of their dream.
How can one party be so selfish, and ignorant about costs and benefits, to let so many Americans become ill and die on their watch?
Why do the right wing nuts have to be so crude?
Lol..
Anyone, yes anyone with a medicare card can see a Doctor the same day, for free. Health Clinic everywhere.
Even go to emergency rooms. See a Doctor the same day, for free.
Why are republicans so cruel?
It’s all about “Free” to the Loony Left. They will die on that hill and die sooner than those with intelligence that realize that nothing is truly “Free”! There is a cost to everything even if it is not readily observable to their limited conceptualization abilities.
With around 340 million people in the USA and 41 million people in Canada, the logistics and operations of healthcare are going to be drastically different. Comparing the two is difficult and kind of unrealistic.
We have several friends in Canada, and they do not have the same high opinion of the healthcare system.
What do you think is better:
-A country that CONTROLS your healthcare, and gets to make choices on YOUR behalf, OR
-A free market industry that allows YOU to decide where to go, and choices about YOUR healthcare?
It doesnt take much research to see what happens when government gets involved with private industries. And America is currently stuck between the two…
I really don’t know a lot about the Canadian system. My only experience with Canadian Healthcare was when my son was a young Hockey Player we’d go to Canada a couple times a year. Every time a kid was injured (suspected concussion, possible broken bone, etc), ALL the Canadians encouraged us to take the 2 1/2 hour drive back to Detroit for medical care if we wanted to get seen by a Dr. and maybe have a chance for the kid to play the next day.—This was prior to the passage of the Affordable Care Act…or the UnAffordable Care Act, depending upon your point of view.
What is actually interesting about this thread is that you have a Canadian complaining that the American dream is being destroyed even though they (Canadians) already have lots of destruction in their own country.
Maybe the Canadian would like to emigrate to the US since he opines so much about how it is falling apart? That way he can help right the ship he sees as sinking? Nah just another Loon trying to take shots at the POTUS!
How about this? Time to stop fighting left/right, but focus on the real issue. By Brandon Webb, a former Navy SEAL sniper and Naval Special Warfare Sniper Course Manager:
Brian, stop falling into the wing nut rabbit holes.
While health care costs have continued to increase since President Obama signed the Affordable Care Act into law in 2010, they’ve done so at a slower rate than in the years before the law was passed.
