DBPR does do stings, they also do sweeps (drive problem areas looking for unlicensed atcivity). The problem, according to them, is one of man power and funds. The two best places to get a sting going are through your local code enforcement offical and through one of DBPR’s regional offices. Many times the local Lowe’s or Home depot help with theese too.
The best way to stop theese guys is probobly going to be through realtors, I know in my area a realtor won’t except an inspection from some one unlicensed. They have to worry about their liability and their licenses to. What happens if a buyer wants to back out on the strength of a report by an unlicensed inspector? Don’t you think the selling agent would have a fit?
