Do you recommend sewer scoping on a home inspection, and when?

What would you have to see to recommend a sewer scope?

Every house every time. Its only $100 here and 8 out of 10 that they do on my inspections have issues.

I dont have to see anything, I just recommend them on every house/building I inspect.

very true, roots, breaks, holes, dips, etc can be on any sewer line, even brand new. Why not try to scope them all. Easy money.

Old cast iron, Everytime.

Always a good idea, but I always recommend it on any home built pre 1980 for sure. That’s approx when they started using plastic. Before that, typically cast iron or clay.
