I had a realtor send me this picture. Does anyone know what this is?
Looks like a heat exchanger.
It’s a heat exchanger as Jeff said. Was there a wood furnace or other alternative heat source by chance? Hot water circulates through one circuit, cold through the other. Heat is transferred from the hot water to the cold water.
And prevent cross contamination in potable water at the same time.

Off thread…This home on well water?
As others have said it is a heat exchanger. I see these quite a bit in Seattle. They are installed when the hot water system is used to run hydronic wall heaters. Keeps the domestic hot water separate from the water flowing to the heaters.
I see what looks like a well pressure/holding tank (blue on the left), with a filter key on top usually used in well systems.
Evening, Robert. Hope to find you, well, although you did answer what I has wondering. Lol
“pressure/holding tank (blue on the left), with a filter key on top usually used in well systems.”
Thank you for posting your thoughts. “Well” received. Ops… Lol. I did it again.
