In the photo above…the only thing missing is wood sheathing in back of the stucco in Arizona…which is used on Shear Walls (corners only).
Where did you find that picture?
When I look at it I see the basecoat is thick like stucco and the mesh looks like lath for stucco.
With EIFS the base coat is only 1/8 th inch thick max! And there is only one coat of base coat not 2. Like you talked about in another post.
It looks to me like it is talking about stucco!
Stucco and EIFS are not the same thing, Dale.
The picture looks like stucco the way stucco should be applied. Unfortunately, many stucco “professionals” sometimes skip a few steps.
“professionals” No OSB!!! Good idea! RR for president!
Thats still not useing chicken wire! And the pictures you posted are not eifs! They are of a stucco job in the works.
Your blowing my mind…Senor’ Brown…
I got no reason to lie Dale. No where on that link you posted will you find chickenwire! You will find fiberglass mesh!
Who else can we ask?
Does that link say EIFS?
I told you they use Wire Mesh In Arizona!!!
I don’t know what they use in Kansas City!!! Or Care…
Yes it says EIFS!
BUTT your pictures are not EIFS!
And I don’t care either!!
Nice visiting with you!
We do not see eye to eye about housewraps and there installation!
Stucco is stucco
EIFS is EIFS
And they are as different as the way they are spelled!
EIFS is a Type of Installation.
Hardcoat Stucco is a Type of Installation.
Dryvit can be found in Non-EIFS applications / Installations.
Each installation needs to be evaluated independantly and reported according to what is found / observed at time of Inspection.
What I find to be applicable in most encounters. Hardcoat, EIFS, Dryvit, etc… is in most (if not all) cases improperly installed.
This is how they install it in Arizona…I make a very good living watching it fall off the Buildings…
Maybe you should move to Arizona and install it the way they do in Kansas.
I’ll go fishing…
Ahhhh…Maybe not, because you will still have the same Applicators…unless you bring them also…
Exactly…Joe
First things first!!! Can I go fishing to?
2> The reason I am not contracting stucco now is because I would not hire that type!! Thats why I am messing with you!
And they would not pay for quality in az. either!
And the lack of craftsmanship is a nation wide problem!
Carl:
The problem is International as the installers are generally not from the USA.
I know Joe, Dale and I have allready coverd that in the forums at http://www.badstucco.com
The builders are greedy the city codes people have dropped the ball!
And our government has sold us across the river!
