Is this an appropriate use for the yellow gas line? My concern is that I never see it outside (only in attics/walls) and this is unsupported.
Thanks in advance.

Bruce…it appears to be fine. Here is a Gastite brand CSST Installation Guide. See pg 51 and especially fig 4-61 on pg 58.
Hi Bruce,
I believe that it has to be in a conduit to protect it from mechanical damage if used outside (manufacturers installation instructions).

Mike I see your gastite and raise you one wardflex LOL

Mike,
I believe that’s it. That diagram is almost exactly what I have here.
Thanks.
Bruce
PS How’s it going up your way? I think I still owe you a steak dinner. September has been so busy, I’m begging for a day off.
Kewl…they pretty much both say the same thing regarding this application don’t they? I’d say it was compliant as it does not look to be susceptible to damage to me, others may disagree:
The central Texas area is doing just OK, one week is gang-busters…the next week is slow. Ike will definitely slow things down for a couple of weeks. Oh, and yes, I do seem to recall a steak dinner promised
Great??? Which is it, Monte? Door #1 or Door #2?
I didn’t make a note of the brand.
Thanks
Got a coin Bruce?

Gerry
Are you kidding ??? I’m a home inspector!! :D:D
Sorry, silly me :shock::mrgreen:
BTW I don’t think it matters who’s CSST it is I would say that in that location it could be damaged (kids, weedwackers, et al) and should be protected.

Gerry
See…I told you someone would disagree. Personally, I’d be more concerned as to whether the appliance connector was listed for exterior use. Beside, why would someone be weed-whacking the dirt?
Cause that’s what the weeds grow in silly
BTW, I bet your right about the connector

I would vote for piping support. I do not think the pvc drip pipe is proper pipe support. I also think in at least should have a grommet at the penetration.
