I just have to think that without massive spending on our crumbling infrastructure all of us will be at the mercy those countries whose vision extends far beyond quarterly reports. Do not be swayed by the Austrian theory of economics, we are all members of a world-wide civilization on the brink of change.
China is pumping trillions of yuan into infrastructure investment, stimulus that could benefit the world’s second-largest economy well beyond this year’s gloom of Covid lockdowns and property market turmoil.
Beijing is making 6.8 trillion yuan (about $1 trillion) of government funds available for construction projects, according to Bloomberg calculations based on official announcements. Total spending could be even higher than that — three times that amount, by some estimates — once bank lending and corporate funds are added
But the U.S. spends thousands of more times on destroying infrastructure than building it, globally. Especially when we attacked the wrong two countries after 911. We have a military that refuses to honor the oath they took to uphold the Constitution including that pesky little part about needing a Declaration of War from Congress before waging war. Until the Marines, in mass, decide that their oaths and honor mean something, nothing will change. That’s who is pissing all of our money away, and pissing on the Constitution at the same time. They need to actually act as honorably as their uniforms make them look. And don’t give me any of this “I was only following orders” crap. That hasn’t been a legitimate defense since Nuremberg. Adolf Eichmann tried that… and we hung him. Any idiot can blindly obey unjust orders. Practice in front of a mirror: “Sir, no sir, I refuse.” Say it 100 times and you’ll start to actually feel manly and honorable. And make quick work of evolving as we Americans can’t let you blow another 9 trillion attacking, invading, and occupying the wrong countries again. On behalf of 200,000 dead civilians and millions of American taxpayers… thank you.
Even Trump was on board for that spending. I do not think that is a hard sell, but instead we wasted trillions paying people to stay home. Of course, its easy for me to be a Monday morning quarterback. But we should now be very aware the consequence. Unfortunately, any large spends by the government should be delayed because more inflation can spin out of control, ensuring we are reduced to a 3rd world country.
We are already there. China plays the long game and is winning. How they are winning is the problem.
