We are approved to do home inspections for FHA loans aren’t we? Someone just ask and i hadn’t thought about it. I figure we can.
You can do a home inspection, but it will not replace an FHA appraisal. FHA appraisals are a bit more involved than a regular appraisal, but not quite as involved as a home inspection. In order to do an FHA appraisal, you will need to be a licensed appraiser (at least in my state).
For a home inspection, it doesn’t matter what type of loan the client is getting. You will (or should) do the same inspection. You may get clients that ask if you think it will pass the FHA appraisal. I would stay out of that conversation as much as possible.
