To Whom It May Concern:
I did a Google search by typing in: "Northern California Home Inspectors". I thought this was pretty specific and to my dismay, FIND AN INSPECTOR nor the NACHI site showed up in search.
What did show up was an old announcement for a chapter meeting.
How can this be? Is this a mistake and can it be corrected?
Thanks,
Chris

Search engines are tough to figure out. I can’t answer why but I now I can search for Home Inspection and my town and state and my web site will not show up till way down the list. Tons of irrelevant sites come up before me.
Then I can change the search just slightly and there I am near the top.
From what I have read the search engines keep their methodology very closely guarded secrets so that you can't MAKE you site show up every time at the top of the list.

“Northern California Home Inspectors” is not a phrase in our paid click thrus, meta tags, etc. In a list of the most popular terms used by consumers to find home inspectors online… “Northern California Home Inspectors” doesn’t appear at all. In other words, no one, or nearly no one seeking a home inspector types that phrase.
It might be appropriate to put this phrase within your own website if you are in Northern California though.
"certified home inspector" is by far the phrase mostly used by consumers seeking home inspectors. Consumers love the word "certified."

I’m not sure I’ve got the address right, but I typed in “www.findaninspector.com” and got a home inspector locator web site. When I clicked on the states of Missouri and Kansas (I’m on the state line), I got a bunch of AHIT Certified Inspectors and neither myself or any other NACHI inspector I know.
Did I hear wrong or make a mistake in web address??? I thought I heard someone say "Find An Inspector" was part of NACHI. If so why aren't the NACHI guys showing up there???

If a potential customer has to do that to get the search engine link to nachi, we're all in trouble!
