Firewall needed between Garage-Breezeway-House?

is a firewall (5/8" drywall) needed on the garage wall if there is an enclosed breezeway between the garage and the house?

Thanks.

No.

BTW: a 5/8 gypsum in firewall is never needed on the wall between the garage and the house. 1/2 inch will suffice. 5/8 TypeX is only required for the ceiling when “living space” is over the garage. Be careful with the definition of “living space” not all interior, conditioned space is considered “living space”.

Thanks Chuck!
Much appreciated.

Is there an open attic space connecting garage/breezeway/house?

What’s the correlation here that you have?
Is it a breeze way between the house and the garage tied with a shared roof?
Picture?

A 1/2 inch layer of drywall will serve as a separation between a garage and an adjoining living space. The separation may or may not be necessary depending on what the breezeway is used for.
