Flir E6 XT Black Friday Sale

I’m thinking about buying the Flir E6 XT. Its a $1000 off for their black friday sale. Does anyone have that model and what do you think of it?

240 × 180 pixel infrared detector. -20°C to 550°C (-4°F to 1022°F) temperature range. FLIR MSX® image enhancement.
That would be very useful for home and building assessments.

Equally, if not more, important is adequate training, A level I, II/Building Sciences class would help in accurately assessing the anomalies one may encounter in our line of work.

I have an E6 that I paid a lot for when they came out. Great camera. Today, the Hikmicro Pocket does more for considerably less $$.

Unreal.
256x192 IR resolution/49,152 pixels.
Thermal sensitivity <0.04°C/NETD<40 mK. Nice.
Adjustable span and level.

Hikmicro M30 under 3,000 in Canada. Changing the industry.

Have you used the software? I find FLIR to be pretty powerful but not user-friendly.

I never use the Flir software because I am not doing deep IR analysis. I am unlikely to get a Hikmicro because I already have an E6 (a few years ago, I was doing an inspection for the 4-state Flir distributor. I heard him tell his wife, “Lon has an E6. That’s a serious camera!”)
When I got the E6, I tried to market IR surveys, but got almost no takers. Today, it is another tool in my kit that I pull out when I think it will help me with an analysis of something.

It’s a bit wonky since both the camera and the device you want to connect it to have to be on the same WiFi but it’s easy to transfer photos from the camera to a phone.

I was chatting with a dealer for Hikmicro and he said they could give discounts for the M30. Id like to spend about $2000

I know an inspector that uses Hikmicro M30 and M50. He is very informed and recognised. Keep us in touch about the price.
