Four Point / Insurance Inspection

Hi, I just had a request and completed a insurance (4 point) inspection for a local insurance company. I’m in Ohio and I’m wondering if these are becoming more common in states other than Florida? Also, I was not provided any sort of form from the insurance company… So I used my software (Horizon) and only used the 4 required systems going off the Citizens Florida form for guidance. I’ve heard nothing from the insurance company so I’m assuming it was OK. Is there a 4 point form or software that can be used that is generic and not Florida based? Just recently started my home inspection business so if this is a topic covered already my apologies…

To the best of my knowledge there aren’t other 4 point forms or formats (yet). In Virginia some insurance companies have started to ask for something like it on occasion, but usually worded differently and very vague. I don’t think the people asking know what they want, for that matter the companies themselves don’t seem to know.

We’ve just been steering clear of them. Until there is something specific, with clear understanding of liability, it doesn’t seem worth while to mess with.

^^ That.
It’s too new for them right now.

Thanks Michael, You’re right on not knowing what they want… I may hold off on future ones until things get clarified…

Thanks Larry… I appreciate it. It looks like the same info on the Citizens Florida Form buy all the Citizens forms have “To be completed by a licensed Florida Home Inspector”.
