This is a test, right?? How about evidence of flame rollout perhaps caused by a restricted flue?

It appears by the picture that teflon tape may have been used on the piping, in our area it must be approved pipe/joint compound.

Also thought those flex hoses were only to be used on stoves and dryers? Permanent fixtures should have the yellow jacket flex or black pipe as far as I know.

I don’t like the bend / kink in the flex gas line at the valve.

Jay,

I think the flex line is too long, I would like to see the gas line hard piped closer to the gas valve on the tank.

My two cents

Thank you for all your input. I recognized the flue problem immediately. I have made the recommendation for a licensed plumbing contractor evaluate…

We don't have many homes down here in South Florida with gas. We have a lot of senior citizens with it though! ![icon_biggrin.gif](upload://iKNGSw3qcRIEmXySa8gItY6Gczg.gif)

My question for the “artist” is why is there several pieces of different pipes making the final connection between the flex and the switch? Sadly I’ve seen worse.
