GFCI in bathrooms -- distance to sink

Greg what about a laundry without a sink, an overzealous inspector could deem the washer water connection is a water source.


That aside I am all for GFCI protection, I would not complain at all if the NEC said all circuits (with a few exceptions) had to have GFCI protection.

Or what about a connection to a fridge that has a ice maker…in most kitchens the fridge is dedicated to the applicance and does not have to be GFCI protected…however it does have a water source to it and the plug would most certainly be within 6 feet of it…


I agree in the whelm of protection I am one of those that believe more is better.....as bob stated with exceptions just as I am a fan of AFCI's but thats a whole different story...![icon_smile.gif](upload://b6iczyK1ETUUqRUc4PAkX83GF2O.gif)
