Hi My Friend has house that has gravel crawl space. I was helping him in the crawlspace and i noticed that his sump pump was uncovered and had gravel in it i told him i did not think this was good . I thought i would get your thoughts since you guys have always been realy helpful
Most of the sumps I see in my area have a gravel( or medium sized stones anyway) bottom. Just make sure it isn’t too fine. I don’t like it but that’s what I see.
Pit doesn’t need gravel or any rock. Sometimes a brick or two to raise pump off bottom to keep it clean.
