Convicted ex-Ohio House speaker moved to Oklahoma prison to begin his 20-year sentence

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Convicted former Ohio House Speaker Larry Householder has been transferred to Oklahoma to begin his time in federal prison.

The 64-year-old Republican had been held in the Butler County Jail in southwestern Ohio since he was sentenced June 29 to 20 years for his role in the largest corruption scheme in Ohio history.

He was recently moved to the federal transfer center in Oklahoma City, according to Bureau of Prisons records. His attorney, Steven Bradley, said Householder was not granted a request to be released during his appeal.

Householder and lobbyist Matt Borges, a former chair of the Ohio Republican Party, were convicted in March of conspiracy to participate in a racketeering enterprise involving bribery and money laundering.

Point being, free society to choose what you want to read and believe in from the interweb. And it’s a free society to choose to discredit any site, right or wrong…right?

What do you consider credible news sources Tom, besides the onion? CBS? NBC? CNN?

Exactly, it is a jungle of mirrors with one reflection reporting on the other. But Snopes has a bit of a messy background to say the least. Snopes touts themselves as the definitive Fact checking site.

But I am curious, why you responded to me and not Bryce? Could that same statement not apply in defense of David’s post?

Because you mentioned Snopes “is the bubble” to which I concurred with, along with anyone can site any interweb source and believe them to be true. It’s very apparent from multiple posters here.

Fair enough. And, btw…Bryce is right about posting stupid memes that have no basis in fact. I too resent the swirl of blatant BS that is meant to be taken seriously.

The truth is, I spend a lot of time running from my bias. But every time I do, I run into someone else’s, lol.

You’re not “sorry” at all.

There’s a claim on the table that in Newsweek in 1979 a specific quote was made by a certain Mr. Soros regarding his “Life’s Mission”. Snopes at least worked to check that assertion, rather than accept the meme.

The meme image is “pants on fire” regardless of what you think of Mr. Soros.
Making up shit, then steadfastly claiming everyone who says it’s false is the enemy is a terrible way to be voting citizen of a democratic society. Thein lies the path to destruction of freedom and the American way: well on the road to cult worship worthy of Mr. Kim.

Up your game. Check your sources.

Since you were apparently not interested in doing the hard work: I’ve done the work for you and searched major publications for 1979 including the full text of Newsweek and just about every media source out there large to small. Below is what was found. Now maybe Mr. Soros was indeed quoted in Newsweek, but the world wild back office deep state conspiracy purged it from the record and the only copy exists in a basement of a pizza parlor in New York under boxes containing bone meal made of children. For myself I’ll go with Occam’s Razor on that one.

Newsweek Archive unfortunately does not go back to 1979.
Lexus Nexus does however. There’s only two mentions of Soros in the entire year of 1979 across thousands of new sources including Newsweek:

For good measure I searched a decade forward and back from 1979. It’s just boring stuff like:

No Headline In Original
WALL STREET JOURNAL
September 14, 1979, Friday
Copyright 1979 The New York Times Company: Abstracts
Section: Page 33, Column 3
Length: 73 words

Soros Fund Management Inc and its pres George Soros consent to Federal court order restricting their stock trading. SEC suit had accused them of violating provisions of Federal securities law in connection with '77 transactions in Computer Sciences Corp stock. Order limits purchases during secondary distribution of same security and requires $14,500 special account to cover possible claims by Computer Sciences shareholders (S).

I did not say Snopes was wrong. I said they are in the bubble. Relax.

The only reference to Soros and the Hate comment recently in Newsweek,
in fact is to debunk the claim : May 16, 2023 Tuesday 9:27 AM EST in an article titled " Elon Musk Claims Billionaire George Soros ‘Hates Humanity’"

Absolutely corrosive to an informed electorate is scoring points over seeking truth, which the above thread is doing in spades. And influencers like Mr. Musk abusing their positions of prominence to steer the sheelple into ignorant and mutually unintelligible tribes. Get 'em to put on the right color hat, read the right sources, and keep the debate about tribe so facts and ground truth need not come into. Just make shit up until nobody knows which was is up, then step in as savior. Welcome to your new dictatorship.

There are plenty of influencers and disseminators of disinformation (I consider it propaganda). Which is doing exactly that daily 24/7. Cable news and big tech are the main offenders.

We can, and I sometimes do go on and on about the lies that are being broadcasted that are considered fact by the general public. So good for you calling Elon out!

But stop this thinking that the right are the misguided ones. They are not alone by any measure!

In 2015 and 2106, the biggest conspiracy theory of that time was Russia collusion. And many people cannot let that go. Sound familiar?

I posted the unchecked meme without any checks, it is common knowledge among circles that have escaped the Mockingbird media psyop that soros is a POS that hates America. He recently handed over his control to his POS son (allegedly due to health reasons) who has made 18 or more visits to the WH pResidence in recent months.

I checked several sources besides “internet search engines” which are certainly, if not already corrupt, becoming more corrupt everyday with AI. I did a search for POS “soros” on all alvailable 1979 Newsweek mags (weekly publication). I found no references to soros in any of the archived Newsweek Mags.

I did notice some interesting headlines during the search confirming that Newsweek is just another extension of Op Mockingbird.

I also noticed that there were missing issues. hmmmm
The entire year of 1979 was missing in my original search, that seems odd…

Further searching uncovered the 1979 issue and I noticed another missing issue…

Tom (or anyone for that matter) pick out 1, or as many as you can find false statements produced by the media outlets you have identified here and you have claimed as being fake.

I would agree that snoozemax (Newsmax) is just as fake as phox news.
