Help Identifying Duct Work

Hello everyone. I am having trouble identifying some duct work I came across. I have not seen this type before and am having trouble finding any info. I know there is black flexible ductwork, but the outer lining is PVC so that will not rust. The black flexible duct in this home has rust on every section. This furnace was manufactured in 2010 and has several issues. I am recommending a HVAC pro evaluate the entire system. Can any of you shed some light on what this black duct is? Thank you for the help.

Hard to tell from the photo. Possibly high pressure (WG) flexible duct.

Thanks, Jeff.

It looks like flue pipe used for a wood burning stove. This is not the proper application for it.

Thank you, William. I think you nailed it. That would explain all the duct tape. All the sections are at bends and duct taped together at the joints. Have a great weekend!

Thanks, Larry.

I concur.
The plenum or trunk that duct terminates from looks like its for a forced air system. The duct terminating onto the 90 degree stove pipe appears to be a flex dryer vent. Hmm???
