On October 22, 2013, Rule Chapter 61-30, Florida Administrative Code (F.A.C.), became effective. These rules, along with Chapter 468, Part XV, Florida Statutes, are the result of many coordinated efforts between the Department and industry stakeholders and are now final. Some parts of the pre-licensing and continuing education programs for home inspectors have changed as a result of these new rules. Some key changes are detailed below:

Disclaim, Disclaim, Disclaim

What a pain in the a s s the State has made this biz :frowning:

Thanks for posting the info Eric.

You are welcome.

For some of us. …this isn’t anything new.

You right the State has been screwing up this biz for quite some time

How?

I took one online course and paid 5 bucks and my license was renewed. Wow…what a hardship!

That’s the second time I have heard of the $5 renewal fee. I haven’t renewed yet but what is this? I thought it was like every other renewal fee of $200 plus $5 for unlicensed activity or some nonsense.

I’m special!

I called and asked if it was the correct price and the lady said, yes. I kept asking and she kept saying yes. It is done.

I want to be special too…

You are!

Thanks Eric. I just went online and renewed mine. Yep a whole 5 big ones. Better hurry Brad before they discover the glitch in the system!..lol

Bert

LOL…Ok, I’ll try it. Just hope they don’t send me a bill later.

As I told the lady I was talking to…I am sure an invoice will show up in the next 2 years… She got a chuckle out of it!

Just renewed the HI license for $5, along with my mold licenses for another $5 each…thanks guys. Looks like they are only charging for the unlicensed activity. Doubt my CBC license will be $5 though…still need 5 more CEU’s for that. Maybe the FL gurus can muster up the contractor BS CE’s for that one, Workman’s Comp, OSHA, Codes, etc.

Wanna know how to stimulate building in Florida…

Give Builders financial breaks, it is that simple.

Folks will ALWAYS wish to move here due to weather. All we need is the right folks in office and we could all be wealthy again.

There is plenty of land and when Florida is building EVERYONE does well.

Some times you just make me giggle!

Hah…still not enough to buy my vote.

Licensing boards can not make a profit and the funds must stay with that particular board. If the fees collected are more than the annual budget of the board it is corrected by lower renewal fees the following year.

That makes some sense Ed. I hope you’re right and as Brad said earlier, we don’t see a bill in the mail down the road!..lol

Thanks,

Bert

Don’t worry about CEUs not showing up on the DBPR system yet.

Go ahead and renew regardless of ceu posting status.
