Hi Guys,

We’ve just released Home Inspector Pro version 2.5.5 for Windows & Mac with lots of new features! Our home inspection software is designed by home inspectors, making it easy to use and customize. We constantly get feedback from our users so the program is always evolving. A new update comes out every 2 to 3 weeks. The program is currently on sale for $350 off for NACHI members.
New Features:

  • Bulk photo adding. Add hundreds of photos in just seconds and then marks the section they should appear in with a quick click. Guys have added 100 photos in about 30 seconds.

  • PDF bookmarks added so that readers of the report can get around the report even faster than before.

  • Great control over font size, type & color throughout the report.

  • Popup bubbles to show you what the rest of a comment looks like if it’s longer than what fits on the quick view screen. Now you can view 50+ comments and know what the full narrative looks like instantly.

  • Added support for Argentina and South Africa and made improvements for Canada and the UK.

  • Tool tips added throughout the program to help new users find their way around faster.

  • And more!
    A Few Existing Features:

  • Easily create a template for every type of inspection you perform. For example load one template for a commercial inspection then switch to your residential home inspection template for your next job.

  • Designed for a tablet pc to almost eliminate the need for your keyboard during an inspection yet works great on a normal laptop.

  • Ability to upload inspection reports for real estate agents, home buyer/seller, and you to view for up to 3 years.

  • Allows you to upload reports and email a link to the report in one easy step.

  • Reports are easy to for the home buyer/seller to read and Home Inspector Pro is the only program to include a table of contents.

  • Add unlimited photographs anywhere in your report.

  • Reorder pages, control page breaks and create colored borders.

We have a flash tutorials section to the website that has animated step by step instructions on how to perform a common tasks in the program, make sure to check them out! Dom,

I downloaded a demo a few weeks ago. Is the current version on your site as a demo?

Hi Kevin,

The current version on the site was posted yesterday so there’s been quite a few changes. The demo is actually a complete full version, it’s just that the name and company name fields are locked. I think I sent you an email last night that had a link to an update version so you didn’t need to get the full download. Did you get it?

Dominic

Dominic,

Most of have have a software with a large narrative library that we edit to our liking. Does your software come with a narrative library?

Hi Erol,

The software has a narrative library with in, but like you said most inspectors replace the majority of the comments with their own. One of the best things about the program is how incredibly easy it is to add your own or edit existing comments or design.

We are in the process right now of creating several new narrative templates that will be included in a future version (and of course giving to existing users). We also finished the template for the ADA report that Nick posted a few weeks back.

Dominic

Dom I downloaded a copy today and have been going over it all day long. Guess I am going to have to visit the tutiorals was not able to add comments to the library. Also observed a couple of typos in the preprinted items.

Really like the adding of the photos Great job

Hi Charley,

To add comments just click on the “Edit Comments” button along the row of buttons :). From here you can add comments, delete comments, rearrange them and a bit more.

To edit an existing comment just double click on a comment anywhere in the program, you don’t need to click the edit comments button for that.

I’m glad you like the photo add feature. The bulk add ability was actually suggested by several NACHI inspectors including Bob Elliot and Steven Turetsky. It had been suggested in the past but they really drummed up support from a few others as well.

The animated tutorials are extremely helpful especially if you plan on redoing the entire template. For example, I saw a NACHI inspector last week create an EIFS inspection template from scratch. It was his first inspection with the program and he did a great job. Since each template is saved into it’s own file, inspectors can actually save their templates too.

At the very least check out http://www.homeinspectorpro.com/Home-Inspector-Pro/How-to-Perform-an-Inspection-with-Home-Inspector-Pro.html it’s a quick overview on how to perform an inspection. The others show how to edit templates, changes colors, different format options etc.

The program is being used in 4 different languages right now that I know of.

By the way, we come out with a new version every 2-3 weeks. Most of the changes recently have been because of NACHI members who’ve bought the program giving lots of input.

Thanks I am resistance to change but it is going to happen if I step up to the next level. Just have not found exactally what I am looking for Perhaps this will be it if I can make it do what I prefer a report to look like.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me via email, here or call me at 1-888-750-4777. As quite a few NACHI members can attest to I answer the phones at all hours, including weekends.

The program is constantly evolving. If there’s something you think should be added, and a good percentage of inspectors will appreciate the feature, then it will be added. The main thing is to make the program extremely flexible but keep it easy to use and keep the extra options a click awayto keep the program from looking bloated.

Great post and funny my name came up as I have just nominated you for innovator of the year award.

I was out of town this weekend, and did recieve an email from you, but thought it had to do with SEO stuff. I just looked at it on my blackberry.

Please re-send the email if you don’t mind.

Thanks,

Kevin

Hi Kevin,
I actually sent you a few this weekend, several did have to do with SEO, one was about the update. I’ll resend it right now.

Dominic

Thanks, Dom!!

Keep up the good work with your software. The reason why HG is so successful, is that they “listen” to thier clients.

You seem to be well on your way to be one of the best out there. All in due time…

Best wishes

Kevin

Thanks for answering my question

Charley

Sure thing Charley, it was nice talking to you on the phone. I’m glad to hear you like the program so much. If you have any more questions about the program, please let me know!
