You can definitely develop a tolerance. I used to be able to carry very hot plates after working in a restaurant for many years.
I worked in food service in College and I agree…tolerance is possible. My grandma though…I think it was her hands being numb. Knowing what I know now, I suspect that water was 145 or more. No way to know though…different state, different house, different time and she’s been dead 43 years.
That is why we are fortunate to be able to adjust water temperature by adding cold water at the same faucet, through the use of a mixing valve under sinks, or a cold water faucet next to it, to a temperature need:-)
Thanks for the comment, No.
Thank you for the feedback, Expansion tanks are not common here at all. I have only seen them on HE boilers and combi water heater boilers.
No expansion tank on this one!
You will find there are a tron of regional oddities out there…for instance…on your original posted image…i am always baffled when i see no seismic strapping. But i forget that they are generally only required based on seismic concerns. The West Coast…required! Keep it up! You may get some sarcasm from the board, but you will also get good answers from 99 percent of the peeps on here. A massive tool to have as a resource.
Thank you for the feedback, I miss titled the post it was supposed to be water heater tank, just comments on the tank and TRP valve. The picture was a screen shot of a zoomed in photo, I agree it doesn’t look good when zoomed in on this one. My inspection report included the 3 d’s (Describe,Define,Direct) and I did not follow that on this post. Thank you for calling these things out.
Thanks Jordan, No earthquakes in Iowa (for now).
The first thing I noticed was no seismic straps, but I’m in So Cal.
Thanks for the feedback.
