How to start Commercial Inspecting

[lkage (Larry Kage, CMI)]

@lallhands

How do you typically charge for commercial inspections? Do you charge differently for office/mixed-use/warehouse.?

@rlewis5

Yes I do. Usually double of a home inspection

Roy, you’re cheating yourself.

Roy, you’re cheating yourself.

I doubt that. I soak them all!

LOL! That you do, Roy…that you do!

Thanks for the response. Would you know if CCPIA is the body that accredits Commercial Building Inspectors in Canada too? And is there a test I have to go through like I did when I got my Home Inspector license?

You have be careful and not get your hopes up. It’s admirable that Nachi is trying, but ASTM has had a commercial standard for a couple of decades, and it remains the gold standard. Plus you don’t have to join an organization or pay dues to use it.
