Not understanding why the pay is so low. Any inspecting work I have done directly with the federal or state government paid good. I am guessing the contracted company gets majority of the money. I hope NACHI some day steps in and becomes a contractor for FEMA.
I spoke with a local inspector who did these in the past and he said that they review your report twice and if its not right they reduce the inspection fee. He claimed that it he made as low $7 on some inspections by time he got paid and accounted for expenses.
