I was contracted by the owner of a double wide manufactured home to review his factory window installation. He had been told by the manufacturer that his windows were properly installed and that they just needed silicone to fill the 1/2" to almost a full inch gaps around every single one of the windows where the exterior flange of the window frame should be in contact with (or nearly so) the siding of the home. Anybody else want to offer an opinion?
I’d have him reach out to the window and/or siding manufacturer. Doesn’t seem right but I have seen some pretty wide caulk joints on manufactured homes.
