THIS is exactly why nobody likes you. You cant have a discussion with anybody without deflecting to name calling. Your default response when challenged is to try and demoralize them in some lame, childish attempt.
News flash: It doesnt work! You will NEVER win an argument or even BEGIN to have somebody think from your point of view with that pesky, annoying, berating attitude. You have proven on this forum that you are beyond having civilized discussions with.
You dug your own grave, dont get mad when people try and throw the dirt on your face.

And this is the kind of shit that occupies your mental and moral capacities.

Apparently your mob-wannabe cohorts share your fetish for male nudity and sexual derangement.

Just curious, were you bullied as a child? It may be time to finally deal with that

The premise that a hanging electrical cord can disengage the grounded conductor and ungrounded conductor BEFORE the ground is disengaged is not only stupid but impossible without bending the plug connections. Loose feeling outlets (tester not held firmly) are defective and should be replaced anyway.

Williams is an idiot and just posts because no one will listen to him at home anymore.

OMG! With all the things we are required to look for as home inspectors, you guys have wasted all this time arguing over the direction of door handles and receptacles. Neither is a safety issue. They are not addressed in any code. They are both trivial matters that will have no effect on the either the buyer or seller of the home. Good grief! Move on.

Thank you for the morning laugh, such enormous pontification on a relatively small subjects.
Just a thought: Lever handle installation should not impede fire fighters.

I’ve found some of the upside-down lever doorsets that you actually have to pull UP on them for them to work. But don"t tell that to a bunch of monkeys.

Well isn’t that the pot calling the kettle black. That’s your go to move whenever you and I get into a disagreement. If you’re going to deliver punches, the least you should do is take a hit.

If the plug is so loose that it falls out, it needs to be replaced. Loose connection leads to fire.
In the case of this thread, apply Viagra!

Nope, Nice try… I have never resorted to calling you a dumb ass or any of the other 1000 terms that David defaults to… go ahead and search through our discussions if you need to…
we may have disagreements, but I still try and respect you as a person, and I don’t Recall you resorting to names either.

If you don’t like having discussions with me, it’s only because you refuse to answer my questions when I have a valid point. I have to ask you 3 or 4 times and then you still deflect.

Thank you for speaking out. We are the installers and the more we call out these things, the more we will be blamed. « In a perfect world maybe but we are not there yet. ‘we will reap what we sow’.

If I am an idiot, you are a fool. The upside-down leversets and receptacles are incorrectly-installed items that, like S-traps, should flag the inspector that there are most likely other DIY or substandard repairs which should be examined more closely. You are further a fool for adhering to the mob, whose real beef with me for the past couple of years is my calling out of the three-inspections-per-day soft-report writers who are also ruining the credibility of legitimate and honest home inspectors.

hilarious…

Sorry I’m late to the party…
But don’t worry, I’m bringing my own Beer.

Why are Hospital’s Electrical Outlets Upside Down Instead of Right Side Up?

As we know that in a three prong plug and outlet (also known as socket), the narrow blade is for Hot (live), the wide blade is for Neutral, and the longer Pin is for ground as a safety purpose. The newer 3-prong outlets are installed upside down in hospitals because a partially plugged-in right side up outlet may create chaos in case a fork or any other metallic tool falls down on the upper two terminals (Hot & Neutral) which leads to a short circuit and hazardous fire. This is the reason why they install the receptacles in hospitals in an upside down position instead of right side up.

I run across this from time to time and at least once I found out the guy that wired the house was an industrial electrician. When I find these “upside down” receptacles I first check to see if they are switched outlets (in newer homes the electricians are flipping them if on a wall switch and I will make a not in the report advising the client of this). If not a switched receptacle, I will call them out not as a defect but will let them know they may want to (have an electrician) change them to the more familiar, Right ight side up if they wish.
Not like when I find the toilet paper roll installed with the end coming off the back…I figure I let that go, and the homeowner can safely change that if it bothers them that much…Oh who am I kidding…I know we should not make the repairs…But I’ll flip it over for them!!!
