Insurance vs. Bonding in Florida

So I’m begining my pre licensing courses and I’m simultaneously doing a little research on the varying aspects of the business side. I have a buddy out west that swears getting a bond is better than paying business insurance. So I was curious what some of the more experienced inspectors in Florida are doing and/or recommend?

Being a military veteran I have access to USAA who historically never offerred insurance for businesses, but it appears they are starting to play in this space. Just curious what others are doing as I’m sure there is some hindsight 20/20 I can benefit from others with more experience in this space.

Last I checked, Alabama fans cannot get insurance.

Florida requires home inspectors to be insured.

Liability insurance will pay for losses in a claim from accidental damages, etc. I think the state requires $300K.
If you additionally carry errors & omission, that should defend you for a lawsuit if you’ve been accused /sued for legitimately missing something.

A bond is to guarantee you fulfill your obligations. I don’t think that applies.
Check this out & good luck.
