A lot of good stuff here. This particular one I think would not be correct in Northern climates. Where it says; “Vapor Retarder” it should be “Air Barrier” and the vapor retarder should be toward the inside.
Its the vapor retarder under the siding not the insulation vapor barrier that your thinking of.

The material under the siding shouldn’t be a vapor retarder though. The perpetual debate about what is better, typar or tyvek, centers around this exact point. (Neither one is a vapor retarder but the one is even more permeable than the other.) The funny thing about this debate is that both products are manufactured by DuPont. I guess DuPont figures if it can’t collect the $$ with the left hand, it will collect with the right.
