IR Pics of Natural Gas Furnace & 30 Amp Breaker

I think it would be safe to say that the ambient temperature is around 74° (which is the automatic low temperature setting the camera collected. It does not appear that the image has been tuned far from the ambient). There are no other objects or background in the composition of the scan (like a glass of iced tea) that would cause a lower span setting.

As the color gradient on the front of the breaker is close to that between the breakers and the breaker material is close to .9 I don’t feel that is an issue. It can be an issue in some cases though.

[size=2]This does affect accuracy, however the large apparent temperature differential is sufficient to make a qualitative assumption of apparent defect. I agree, there is insufficient information provided/collected and this only makes the error factor wider[FONT=Tahoma].
