Stumbled here by random coincidence, but since I’ve got hardcore equipment laying around I use only periodically (FLIR T1020 w 45deg lens) and my experience coinciding with more of the engineering aspects of thermal IR sensor construction, FPA / Optics thermal IR cam sys development engineering work I figured I could lend a hand or rent out the T1020 (need corporate approval for that, but probability of a 95% yes on 3rd party loan-out during idle time since only makes convincing sense to make it fetch a buck than none (less the strict liability paperwork and potential background certification due dilligence/insurance requirements).
As a computer vision engineer, I’m in both on the hardware and software of photogrametric 3D scene reconstruction, so if you send me frames with ground/target control points it’ll be a snap to have a sleek 3D thermal rendering of the inspection topology or structure.
Just an offer on mutual reciprocipicty since I’m not in the IR inspection line of work (my dad is a GC and home inspector, and so I also have first-hand knowledge of the construction process in my young days working construction building from ground up.
Now - I will be traveling over the next few months heavily in the MW/ME (non inspection related survey work) … Figured I’d propose what I can do for you (Dave) or anyone here to help on equipment/graphics in exchange for a buck or - at best - barter for minor work or consultation in those with skill in allloy refractory material burner designs, ewaste REM recovery, or general high end machining. More critically electroplating/dielectric reflectors/ standard mirror-polishing alloys inclusive of metallurgy/foundry expertise. Also have a few prospects I’m looking to take a leap into that are not in my field, yet they are big dollar contracts granted the right partnerships/contacts/expertise.
Shoot me a PM to discuss. I’ll probably edit this with more detail later, but essentially there’s a T1020 up for grabs here in exchange for either a far below market rental rate (if my boss approves granted it’s not my property per se, which I don’t find him vetoing. (A hundred bucks is better than zero!). Considering FLIR T1020 rentals are in the 2-4k/month range, consider this a rare flexible option in a loan-out for a few bucks and make a lifelong new joint venture military contractor liaison (or even board member based on skills) amid a joint venture spinoff I got swept under in a civil/defense military contractor startup with some very high caliber folks in the food chain. Looking for someone with experience in metallurgy, plating, electrical/mechanical engineering, aeuronautics, signal processing, etc …
I can also run the 3d point cloud and 3D thermal model generation from the inspection footage. PM me if any mutually beneficial arrangements come to mind.

Don’t know if this job will revive after the Covid thing, unless they experience more catastrophic losses, and they come up with a better budget.
Most of my work these days are for Insurance companies, huge electrical and contracting companies, Building Envelope Consultants who sub me out on the Thermal. I got three calls yesterday from out of state firms, and I try not to travel so much anymore, and I sub the field work to local Thermographers. I’ll keep you on the list. I don’t have anyone down your way.
